The Issue: Democrat Andrew Stein’s column calling for President Biden to resign for the sake of the party.
I can agree with Andrew Stein’s reasoning on why President Biden should resign (“Go Now, Joe,” Aug. 1).
He’s obviously unfit for the president’s office, as most of us have known for quite some time.
However, Vice President Kamala Harris replacing him is the textbook definition of a non-starter. Anyone who has watched Harris totally botch her job as vice president will agree, and Stein’s suggestion to “allow Dems to assess if she’s a viable 2024 option” is beyond ludicrous.
Both of these misguided people need to just go away.
Although I appreciate Stein’s impassioned column, I must disagree with his last paragraph. Biden has not served admirably in his career. What has he done in five decades? Just check his legislation and the people it’s affected most.
Also it seems he’s mostly been interested in his own personal gains, as evidenced by recent exposés (most notably from The Post). Stein is right Biden should resign gracefully, but he won’t. He has no grace.
As Stein mentions, it would be advantageous for Biden to just pack up and leave for the sake of everyone, including himself.
He’s wrecked the country, either by his own choice or just by following the orders of the leftists who are yanking his strings. He has been by far the biggest failure since President Jimmy Carter.
His failure in Afghanistan, his choice to shut down America’s energy and his constant claims that Russian President Vladimir Putin is responsible for everything are beyond the pale.
This clueless man has put all of us, including his base, on pins and needles. For the sake of all, please step aside.
Simply put, Stein is delusional to even think Harris could possibly be president. She is beyond incompetent.

The Issue: A woman who reportedly berated her daughter’s table-tennis partner for her religious clothing.
Does Fei Ming Tong object to Catholic nuns’ habits, Mennonites’ modest long dresses and organdy white caps, Muslims’ full-face and body-covering burkas, the jackets, white shirts and black pants for Mormon men or anyone else’s ethnic or religious garb — or does she save her hatred only for the Jews (“Ping pong prattle,” July 31)?
This is a new low, for anti-Semitism to trickle down to one’s garments.
I do suspect that Estee Ackerman might be a better table-tennis player than her daughter, so she withdrew her under the pretense of Orthodox garb.
It is not Ackerman’s clothing that is “disgusting” but Tong and her anti-Semitism.
People always lash out against the Jews when they are disgruntled and unhappy about something in their own life. It’s too bad there are so many unhappy people out there.
I truly feel bad for Tong’s daughter, Lucy Chen. Tong obviously feels her daughter doesn’t have the skill to play with Ackerman, who is an Orthodox Jew who dresses modestly.
By pulling her daughter out of the match, she sent a terrible message to Lucy. She basically said you don’t have what it takes to partner with a girl wearing a skirt.
Estee went on to win a silver medal in another match. She has what it takes to win without compromising her religious beliefs.
