How to crop and resize photos on your iPhone and iPad


If your iPhone is your go-to camera — and let’s face it, for most of us, it is — then you probably have some photos that you want to print out and frame to decorate your house with. But to make sure your photo is frame-ready, you need to make sure that it’s the right size. Here’s how to crop and resize photos right on your iPhone and iPad with the Photos app!

How to automatically crop photos in Photos on iPhone and iPad

  1. Launch the Photos app.
  2. Find the photo you would like to crop.
  3. Tap Edit.

  1. Tap the crop button in the lower right corner. It looks like a square with two arrows circling it.
  2. Tap the crop box button in the upper right corner. It looks like three rectangles in one.
  3. Tap the aspect ratio to which you want to crop your photo.

  1. Select whether you want a vertical or horizontal crop.
  2. Tap Done.

That’s all there is to it. Just keep in mind that the crop will save over the original version of the photo. If you want the original image back again, just change the crop ratio back again to the original.
